Bookkeeping, Accounting, and Auditing Clerks

These jobs are three of the most important in the company. Any company of whatever industry always fills these positions as soon as the company operations have started. It is revealed that these positions are offered in many different ways like temporary, contractual, or full-time.

As for the nature of work, it should be noted that bookkeepers, accountants, and auditors are the organizations financial record keepers. They are responsible for the companys most important information, data, and other sales-related numbers and figures. Specifically, bookkeepers handle all financial transactions and ensure safe and reliable recordkeeping. These financial transactions include debits and credits of the company and of the suppliers and/or consumers, financial statements, and others all of which are recorded and reported to supervisors and managers. Accountants on the other hand have varied roles depending on their titles or positions. Their titles, such as accounts payable clerk or accounts receivable clerk, often reflect the type of accounting they do. Accountants normally work with other personnel such as the bookkeepers to ensure the validity of the data. Lastly, auditors serve as judges of the works done by bookkeepers and accountants. They are the verifiers of records of transactions posted by other workers.

Most companies would require a college-related degree for these positions. However, some accept high school graduates provided that they start from the basic entry-level positions.

Because of the importance of the responsibilities held by bookkeepers, accountants, and auditors, they are normally provided with good office space, coupled with office supplies and equipment (computers, calculators, tables, chairs, etc.). Their jobs are also very tedious that it can be expected to have some overtime especially during special seasons of the company. It is for this reason that these jobs are normally offered with a good salary scheme plus incentive brackets. In 2004 alone, the median wage and salary annual earnings of bookkeeping, accounting, and auditing clerks were $28,570 and this is said to be increasing every year.

Advertising Copywriter

Advertising copywriters work closely with other members of the advertising team or with the rest of the marketing team. What they do is conceptualize and create creative advertising campaigns which will heighten the consumers awareness of the company or product. Advertising copywriters can work in three different forms. Most advertising copywriters work for advertising agencies. These agencies are normally outsourced by the companies that would require ads for the company or their products. This in turn makes the works of the agencies on a project basis and it is the agency that will be paying the copywriters. Meanwhile, some copywriters are directly employed by large and/or multinational companies (who prefer having their in-house advertising team). Lastly, some copywriters do freelance works. They are the ones who do projects on a contractual basis and can be outsourced by either an advertising agency or a big company.

Copywriters not only do research works, but they also conceptualize materials (advertising campaigns, strategies, etc.) that are detrimental to the companys success. They produce several ideas first, present them to the clients and once approval is given, then it the time for them to produce the concept. They would use various media such as TV, prints, and even radio or the combination of all to reach the clients target audience. Copywriters also assist in making up the right banner headlines, choosing the actors, and even in selecting the right background music for every advertising material they are to produce. It is for this reason that a related college degree is necessary for one to get hired as an advertising copywriter. Some courses related to this position are mass communication, development communication, marketing communication, journalism, and business administration.

The responsibilities held by copywriters are so important that they are normally given an average of $54,410 salary per year.
