I think that the article Expanding the Lens presents a well-thought-out perspective on the importance of organization in the work of an early care worker. Organization, according to the author, encompasses the values and beliefs held by the members of the organization, and their existence influences the way an organization is seen and how its subjects act. Significantly distinct from culture and tradition, organizational culture is set by all workers collectively, including the leader. A leader has a responsibility before their workers and their clients to promote beneficial practices. An ability to hear people out, listen, exercise manners, and overall communication abilities are especially important, as they allow a leader to most effectively direct their values to others. In regards to my personal thoughts about the article, I think that it is effective in what it tries to accomplish and gives leaders an ability to better their performance and position. By taking advantage of the information presented in this article, I hope that I can improve both on a personal and professional level. Taking into account the information I read, I would try to establish effective communication with my employees and promote a healthy structured work environment. By acting in the ways that best represent the values of a company, I can support my organization as a leader.

In the case of my site, morale is primarily supported through positive encouragement and the cultivation of a healthy work environment. It is understandable that people may feel drained by the daily routine and feel dissatisfied with their place in life. To combat this, encouraging self-expression and leisure activities are important, as they can give people the ability to properly rest. In the case of the article, Supporting High Morale, the author uses similar approaches to cultivate the wellbeing of workers. The woman emphasizes the need to give employees time for personally-fulfilling activities as a way to restore energy. I think that I can create a climate of better morale at my site by paying more attention to the needs of each individual. Creating a unique approach towards meeting the needs of the people and scheduling gives management an opportunity to improve the workflow considerably. By incorporating emotionally-fulfilling activities into the workflow, with each of their being in accordance with the needs of an individual, I think that the overall staff morale can be improved. Promoting positivity in the workplace is also an effective way of improving morale, and setting a good example for all employees. The use of positive messaging and a light atmosphere seems like a suitable tactic for solving this problem.

As a part of this assignment, I have listened to Brené Browns TED talk on The Power of Vulnerability. The speech was centrally focused on the importance of showing other people vulnerability and loving oneself, regardless of imperfections. The speaker attempted to make the audience understand that having compassion for others comes second to having compassion for yourself, that people who are true to their being can be happy. In the context of my work, I think I can use this information to promote a better understanding of peoples feelings and the way individuals approach connecting with others. This TED talk has given me the opportunity to look at the topic of communication in a new light.

Throughout this exercise, I have taken into consideration and reflected upon many interesting points. The importance of seeing different perspectives, the ability to establish a particular culture in an organization, and prioritize the feelings and wellbeing of oneself as well as others. I think that the information has gathered will help me become a more confident specialist and a more content person. By utilizing these lessons both in my interactions with learners and my colleagues, I will be able to make a significant contribution.
