Global terrorism can be stopped by the joint efforts of many countries. Mainly, the basis for the development of radical views among the population is social and economic inequality. In addition, if the political and cultural identity of a particular region is violated, then people tend to react aggressively to such phenomena. Cross-cultural communication, international dialogue, and mutual support will prevent such incidents as the 9/11 attack.
The responsibility of the United States to be the worlds policeman is overrated. Any state has its political interests, and the United States is no exception. Accordingly, if one power becomes the only guarantor of security against terrorist threats, then its internal and external interests may cause a response from countries that, according to the United States, should be under control. In part, the events of 2001 became a confirmation of this thesis.
Given the above circumstances, the United States is striving to implement the Greater Middle East project to subordinate the entire region completely. To achieve this task, Washington, by all available means, participates in the overthrow of the regimes it does not like. Mechanisms of this kind for the realization of national interests, in this case, imply support for radical groups, aiding terrorist groups in the Middle East region (Jackson, 2018). Undoubtedly, these levers are only a destabilizing factor that only aggravates the regions way to get out of the crisis as soon as possible. Iran is a significant area of American foreign policy. This state has every chance of opposing the United States in this region and is the only opposing force capable of giving a significant rebuff.
Military force can be useful in countering overt acts of terrorism and protecting civilians from threats. However, using the army and armed units is not the best way to prevent terrorism. The most effective method is to establish a cultural and economic dialogue between countries. In the absence of conflicts and disagreements, both parties can achieve their interests and promote cooperation. If famous activists have no reason to hate a foreign state, the level of terrorism will be reduced.
Violence and military power will never be the best way to prevent extreme aggression. On the contrary, the more military there will be in the Middle East, the greater the level of tension and fear among ordinary people, which can lead to the development of a conflict.
The example of September 11 proves that, despite its great military power, America was unable to prevent a huge terrorist attack mainly from the largest cities in the country. The forces of the army were used only later to invade Iraqi territory. However, this did not in any way affect the prevention of terrorism either in the United States, in the region, or the world. The entry of troops into Iraq was an open struggle, pursuing its interests, but not preventing tragic events (Corbett et al., 2014).
In an attempt to earn political influence, many Western countries are acting according to their understanding of diplomacy. In military integration, the religious and cultural characteristics of the countries of the East are not fully taken into account, which leads to the emergence of radical movements for national identity and freedom from foreign influence. Many terrorist organizations arise precisely based on pressure from interference in the internal affairs of other states. Therefore, if tomorrow the United States withdraws its troops from the Middle East, it is highly likely that terrorist activity in the region will subside but will not disappear completely.
