Introduction

Being a new mother is without any doubt an unforgettable experience in every womans life. The new duties and obligations such a responsibility brings out with it are demanding. And still, the joy of bringing a new human being into this world covers all the expenses. In the following discussion, such an unforgettable experience as becoming a mother will be addressed in more detail.

Main body

First of all, being a new mother is a learning experience that cannot be compared to any other experiences. A woman needs to begin learning to be a mother even before her child is born. Then, when a new human comes into the world, the new mother needs to learn numerous theoretical and practical skills to protect the child from any possible harm and help one grow a strong, healthy, and cognitively developed person.

Next, even before the baby is born, a woman instinctively changes her habits and way of living to save her unborn childhood from potential threats. When I was waiting to have my beloved one into this world, I had to change my lifestyle completely. This is a lot of sacrifices since one needs to alter everything beginning from the clothing style and ending with the habits of entertaining oneself and doing mere daily activities. Before I was not such a careful person in terms of protecting my body from potential physical harm but when I became pregnant, I was amazed at how I began to protect my stomach instinctively.

The feelings I had when I became a mother are very difficult to put in mere words. Of course, this is far greater than just saying I was happy. Needless to say, the feelings of joy, happiness, and satisfaction I had were very different from everything I had felt before. To my greatest surprise, my positive feelings of joy somehow combined with fear and sadness at the same time since I had so many new obligations and responsibilities and I lacked knowledge and experience on how to perform them successfully. Especially, during my first days, weeks, and months as a new mother, I was very apprehensive. I was even scared to take my little one since I thought I could hurt his neck because he could not control it on his own before he was five months old. Even reading a couple of books on rearing children before the delivery did not help. When I and my baby were home after the hospital, I seemed to forget everything I had learned before. However, the fear began to replace with the steady joy and contentment when my baby began to learn how to smile, move his hands and legs and control them, turn from his belly to his back, pronounce his first sounds, play with toys, and more. My joy seemed to be greater than the heavens when my toddler began to make his first steps and say his first words. Now, as he continues to explore the world around him and expand his knowledge and skills, I am very happy. I look forward to seeing what he will be able to make with his life.

Conclusion

In conclusion, it should be noted that becoming a new mother is both a joy and a responsibility. However, it is worth the effort since the blessings are far beyond the investments made!
