This is part of a big research paper study project that its been done in parts.
This is the Discussion part only.
This assignment is to: you are to rewrite all the parts in ” bold” only in a way that doesn’t shown any plagiarism and AI.
No other source need, no citation page need. Only rewrite the parts that is in bold and make sure to flow with the rest .
VERY IMPORTANT USE EASY TO UNDERSTAND WORDING, NO FANCY WORDS ALLOWED, KEEP VERY STRAIGHTFORWORD AND DON’T USE FILLERS WORDS
keep simple, don’t write long sentences, keep straight to the point please to avoid getting send back for corrections. Please don’t change the meaning, keep all the info but just rewrite so won’t show as plagiarism or AI. Please keep the “discussion” same length.

“Discussion
It was hypothesized that participants aged 25 years and younger will report significantly higher levels of perceived life stress than participants aged 26 years and above. The study’s Group Difference found a significant association between age and perceived life stress; that is, participants aged 25 years and younger reported higher levels of perceived life stress than participants aged 26 years and above. The study aimed to explore the framework established by (Nolen-Hoeksema & Aldao, 2011). The Group Difference Hypothesis was supported and expanded upon the findings of past research, that found gender and age differences in stress and emotion regulation strategies Nolen-Hoeksema and Aldao (2011), which mirrored the results of the current study.
A plausible alternative explanation considers participant reaction bias or, more precisely, demand characteristics. The participants might have responded to the survey questionnaire in the direction of either confirming or disconfirming what they perceived the study’s hypothesis to be – thereby potentially obscuring the study data in a direction that makes the relationship between age and perceived life stress, a possibly tentative one.
It was hypothesized that lower income will have a significant negative correlation with perceived life stress; that is, the more they will agree with the statement “I often feel like I can’t relax because of my financial situation.”, the higher the perceived life stress. The study’s Correlational Results found a non-significant relationship between income and perceived life stress. The study’s correlational hypothesis was not supported. The study explored the framework established by (Santiago et al., 2010). The study’s correlational findings were inconsistent with the framework established by past research, which found that lower-income correlated with significantly higher stress/depression symptoms in Santiago et al. (2010), which was the opposite of the current study’s results.
Another potential alternative explanation explains that an uncontrolled environment, such as respondents taking the survey at home might be more prone to distraction or varying emotional states than those taking it at work or during transit. This might influence participants’ perception of stress in their lives, or even their willingness to report their income level. This type of noise, due to differences in circumstances, is often not controllable and could potentially conceal the true association of income on perceived stress.
One potential limitation of the study featured non-probability sampling, specifically through self-selection bias this potential limitation illustrates that participants who chose to participate in the study may threaten external validity. This limitation explains that participants who chose to engage with the study may not represent the broader population, thus limiting generalizability.
Another potential limitation featured confounding variables, more specifically ‘history effects’, and this limitation reasons that an external event in participants’ lives could have influenced how they recorded their responses (e.g., consider participants who may have dealt with grief they may have higher levels of perceived life stress than they may demonstrate on a day-to-day basis.)
One future research direction to account for non-probability sampling is Probability sampling and Method Triangulation which would expand methods of gathering data. The current study employed a convenient sampling method; however, employing a stratified random sampling method would account for issues with a non-probability sampling method. Additionally, a mechanism like method triangulation would allow for the study to introduce components like observational and physiological measures which, would directly increase the construct and external validities, while indirectly increasing internal validity.
Another future research direction would be conducting an experiment to manipulate and control for extraneous variables and a longitudinal or time-series data collection. The experiment would be conducted to manipulate and control for extraneous variables and would feature a cross-sectional comparison to mimic the effects of manipulated variables and would categorize income in ranges. Additionally, a longitudinal or time-series data collection to account for historical effects would isolate any confounding variables relating to external events. Time-series data collection would collect data over monthly intervals to identify how stress can either increase or decrease while simultaneously providing more insights into data.”
