Schools use music to teach young children new words, because children show good interest in music and can be easily taught to sing by imitating the teachers. When the children are able to sing the song fluently, then the teachers will start adding movement that resemble the meaning of the song to help the children understand the meaning of the vocabulary in the song. This method was once tested and the children are able to repeat the song and count the syllables even before they understand the meaning. So, if the children didnt lose interest on music while they were learning, then the children will eventually be able to add and understand new vocabulary without ease.

The Brocas area and the Wernickes area are parts of the brain that is responsible for both music and language acquisition. The Brocas area is located in the frontal lobe that makes us able to understand information that we receive from our surrounding. The Wernickes area is located in the temporal lobe that is responsible to process sound from our ear into information. For Music the Brocas area is responsible to process the tones and the Wernickes area is responsible to create an imagery from the music. And for language acquisition the Brocas area is used to string word to create sentence and the Wernickes area is responsible for the understanding vocabulary and grammar to create sentence. Since music and language is processed on the same part of the brain then hearing music means that they increase their language acquisition ability too.
